Iran Pledges Strong Retaliation After Israeli Attack Violates Sovereignty
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A high-ranking commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned that Iran will "definitely" respond to Israel, making the regime regret its latest act of aggression against the country.
IRGC Deputy Commander Brigadier General Ali Fadavi vowed that the country would deliver a response that Israel would come to regret its recent attack on Iranian targets.
The official also reaffirmed unwavering support for Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement and the broader resistance front.
“During its more than 45-year existence, the Islamic Revolution has not left any vicious act unanswered,” Fadavi stated, promising a “regret-inducing response to this Israeli measure.”
Speaking in Qom on Wednesday during a ceremony marking 40 days since the martyrdom of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s former secretary general, and other commanders of the resistance front, Fadavi condemned the Israeli strike and stressed Iran’s readiness to retaliate.
In response to a question on Donald Trump’s re-election as US president, Fadavi said Iran’s stance would remain unchanged, as the US has shown no alteration in its “evil nature.”
Fadavi emphasized Iran’s continued commitment to Hezbollah and the resistance front, underscoring the importance of support in the face of enemy actions. “Iran has fully stood by Hezbollah for more than 40 years and will absolutely continue to support the movement,” he added.
On October 26, Israeli warplanes used US-controlled airspace over Iraq to launch attacks on sites in Iran’s Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces, resulting in the deaths of four Iranian servicemen and one civilian.
The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces reported that many missiles were intercepted, and Israeli aircraft were prevented from entering Iranian airspace.
Iran has affirmed its intention to respond and reiterated it will not relinquish its right to defend its sovereignty.
