Iran, Armenia Agree to Stay in Touch over Regional Affairs


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Armenia stressed the need for the two neighbors to stay in contact and coordinate plans over the regional developments.

In a telephone conversation on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and the issues of mutual interest.

Expressing satisfaction with the positive relations between the two countries, Araqchi emphasized Tehran’s readiness to deepen and expand relations with Yerevan in all areas of mutual interest.

Mirzoyan, for his part, highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two countries. He underscored the importance of continued consultations between Armenia and Iran on the regional developments.

Mirzoyan also extended an invitation to his Iranian counterpart to visit Armenia.

The two senior diplomats agreed to maintain consultations to enhance bilateral relations and improve coordination on the regional issues.
