Iran, Turkmenistan Discuss Closer Cooperation
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ranking diplomats from Iran and Turkmenistan talked about the ways to promote cooperation between the two neighbors in various fields.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi held a meeting with Rashid Meredov, vice president and foreign minister of Turkmenistan, in Ashgabat on Thursday.
Highlighting the friendly and fraternal ties between the two nations, the Iranian diplomat underscored the need to deepen these relations.
Gharibabadi also emphasized the significance of mutual support for each other’s positions and initiatives within the international organizations, including the United Nations, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
He then called for the continuation of cooperation and interaction on the international platforms.
Gharibabadi pointed to the importance of economic relations and trade exchanges between the two countries.
Expressing satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations in recent years, he reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to strengthen and expand cooperation in various fields.
Meredov, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two nations in bilateral, regional, and international arenas and emphasized the importance of expanding relations.
Referring to the historical, friendly, and brotherly ties based on the kinship between the two countries, Meredov said the relations have remained unaffected by external factors and consistently followed a positive trajectory.
The two sides further stressed the importance of maintaining high-level communications and expressed hope that the upcoming meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission would yield constructive results for both countries and their people.
