Over 100,000 Participants Enrolled in Iran’s 'I Love the Quran' Program
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Over 33 countries have embraced Iran's national Quranic initiative, "I Love the Quran," with more than 100,000 participants nationwide and substantial international engagement, according to the Quranic Affairs Center of Astan Quds Razavi.
The Director of the Quranic Affairs Center of Astan Quds Razavi, Hojatoleslam Seyed Masoud Mirian, highlighted the growing popularity of the "I Love the Quran" program during the special event "The Bright Path," which included the 11th draw for program participants.
Speaking to Astan News, Mirian noted that the initiative, launched three years ago in collaboration with religious shrines and holy sites, has attracted over 100,000 participants from across Iran.
He stated that more than 35,000 learners have attended over 10,000 classes offering courses in Quran recitation, fluency, Tajweed al-Salah, Quranic concepts, and memorization. Additionally, over 18,000 individuals have received completion certificates for the program.
Mirian explained that multiple draws are held annually during national and religious events, selecting winners from participants who have earned certificates or excelled in promoting the initiative.
So far, 11 rounds of draws have been conducted, awarding 11 participants a special prize of 14 million Rials each, and 165 participants a one-million Rial travel subsidy to Mashhad, all made possible through the blessings of Imam Reza (AS).
The program is open to individuals aged 8 and above, with no upper age limit. "Grandparents are welcome to join Quran recitation classes and benefit from virtual lessons or telephone-based support from tutors," Mirian said.
For memorization courses, participants engage in online sessions led by instructors managing 15-member classes on interactive platforms with video conferencing capabilities. After completing virtual classes, students connect with tutors over the phone to address queries, followed by exams. Successful candidates receive official certificates.
Mirian announced plans to expand the program with Arabic-language offerings at the shrine of Hazrat Abdolazim Hassani. He revealed that new modules, including selected verse memorization and specialized Quranic interpretation, will soon be introduced.
In the latest draw, held at the holy shrine of Imam Reza and broadcast live on Quran and Maaref TV, 15 winners were announced, as the grand prize went to Erfan Khaldari Apurvari.
