Huge Delegation of Italian Businessmen Due in Iran Saturday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Italian economic delegation including 370 industrialists and 12 banking groups will visit the Iranian capital of Tehran this weekend.

Licia Mattioli, the head of General Confederation of Italian Industry’s Technical Committee for Internationalization and Foreign Investors, announced that the delegation will arrive in Tehran Saturday.

“Iran is very important to us, and is a country with whom Italy has long had very good (economic) exchanges,” she added.

Italian Trade Commission, Italian Banking Association, the country’s Chambers of Commerce, and General Confederation of Italian Industry have sponsored the huge delegation’s visit to Tehran.

The Italian businessmen will be headed by Italian deputy minister of economic development, and will include 370 representatives of over 250 Italian companies and banks.

The majority of them are active in the fields of environment, renewable energies, mechanics, medicine, auto-manufacturing, and building materials.

The visit will come against the backdrop of a new wave of renewed interest in ties with Iran after Tehran and the Group 5+1 on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.

Experts believe that Iran’s economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.
