Iran’s Larijani Due in Russia for Interparliamentary Conference
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani will travel to Russia to attend a meeting of parliament speakers of the Eurasian states, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow announced.
In a post at his account on a social network, Mehdi Sanai said Larijani is scheduled to pay a visit to Moscow at the invitation of Russia’s State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin to attend the first meeting of parliament speakers of the Eurasian countries.
In addition to a speech to the conference, the Iranian speaker will hold meetings with a number of his foreign counterparts, the envoy added.
The meeting will be held on April 18-20.
According to BelTA news agency, the meeting in Moscow is going to focus on stronger parliamentary cooperation among the Eurasian countries.
Heads of parliament from some 20 counties are expected to take part in the conference.
Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan is also scheduled to travel to Moscow on April 27 to attend the upcoming 2016 Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).
