Qualified Iran Finishes 2019 VNL with Loss

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against USA in straight sets (27-25, 25-21, 25-20) on Sunday evening in the 2019 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League as both teams are now among Final Six.

With both teams already qualified to the Final Six, the match was more of a formality, but both teams got to showcase some players that would not normally see much time on court.

The result sees Iran completed pool play on a 12-3 record in second place in the standings, behind leader Brazil.

USA, who had its spot in the Final Six secured anyway, as host, wrapped up the preliminary round at 9-6.

Benjamin Patch ended up with a match-high scoring of 16, followed by Langlois on 13 and Jendryk on 10. Milad Ebadipour was the Asian side's best scorer on 14 points, with Porya Yali adding another 13.
