Iran’s Heydari in Final of Karate 1-Premier League Paris
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In the Female Kumite -68kg category of the Karate 1-Premier League Paris, the final is set to be a clash of titans as Mobina Heydari of Iran faces off against local heroine Thalya Sombe of France.
Sombe earned her spot in the final by upsetting favourite and star of French Karate Alizee Agier in a closely contested match, winning 1-0. On the other side, Heydari displayed her dominance by defeating Olympian Silvia Semeraro of Italy with an 8-4 score in the semifinals.
Heydari had defeated France’s Melinda Marmot 3-1, Croatian Sadea Becirovic 5-1, Indonesian Georgia Zefanya Ceyco 6-4 and Japan’s Tsubasa Kama 4-2 on her way to the semis.
The Karate 1-Premier League Paris is being held in France's capital from January 26 to 28.
