Iran’s Envoys Given Outlines of Plans for Cooperation with Saudi Arabia, Qatar

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian gave the country’s ambassadors to Riyadh and Doha instructions on how to expand the political and economic relations with Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

In a meeting with Amirabdollahian in Tehran on Saturday, Iran’s ambassador to Riyadh briefed the minister on the latest developments in the bilateral ties at different levels.

Alireza Enayati also gave Amirabdollahian a report on this year’s Hajj rituals.

The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, gave the ambassador the necessary instructions regarding the Hajj season and also ways to promote cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

In another meeting in Tehran, Amirabdollahian and Iran’s envoy to Doha talked about the course of interaction between Iran and Qatar.

The ambassador, Ali Salehabadi, briefed the foreign minister on the plans to strengthen the political and economic ties with Qatar, including the joint economic projects.

In an interview in June 2023, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi hailed the breakthrough in Iran’s foreign relations as a result of his administration’s policy of balanced relations with the world, saying close interaction with neighbors and Muslim and like-minded countries is a main priority of Tehran’s foreign policy.
