President Reiterates Iran’s Care about Foreign Interactions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expand relations with the international community.

“The administration of Prudence and Hope is after expanding relations with the whole countries,” Rouhani said in a Tuesday meeting with a number of the country’s new ambassadors to foreign nations, here in Tehran.

He stressed that Tehran has always emphasized on the enhancement of ties with the foreign countries “on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.”

The president made the comments in a meeting with the Iranian new ambassadors to Slovenia, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Sudan and Kazakhstan.

President Rouhani has on numerous occasions noted that his government is after constructive and peaceful interaction with the whole world.

Earlier in March, in a meeting with European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton here in Tehran, Rouhani underlined that Tehran and the European Union (EU) can boost their relations in a whole host of fields on the basis of mutual respect, stressing that contacts between the two sides should not be confined to negotiations over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.

“I believe that along with the nuclear talks that are in progress and should be advanced, it would be appropriate to consider the other fields on which Iran and the European Union can develop their ties and cooperation,” he pointed out.
