Border Police Stage Wargame in Western Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Law Enforcement Police Force on Sunday began to hold four-day drills in the country’s western province of Kermanshah, with more than 6,000 forces from its border patrol unit attending in the wargame.
The ongoing exercises, dubbed “Eqtedar (Might) 3”, are being held in the county of Qasr-e Shirin, in a westernmost region near Iran-Iraq shared borders.
Border guards from 5 different provinces have taken part in the wargame, which reportedly aims to convey the message of peace and friendship, ensure security along the borders and raise the border police’s preparedness to counter threats.
During the Eqtedar 3 drills, the border police will also employ their latest equipment such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), two-seater reconnaissance aircraft, cameras, armored vehicles and weapons.
The first such border exercises was held in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, while the Eqtedar 2 was staged along the country’s water borders in the southern province of Hormozgan.
