Kabul Urges Formation of Iran-Afghanistan Joint Cultural Market

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Cultural attaché of Afghan embassy in Iran called for setting up a joint market for the exchange of cultural works and products between the two neighboring countries.

 Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Mohammad Afsar Rahbin referred to Iran and Afghanistan’s shared cultural background and said this common ground should be tapped to establish a joint cultural market.

He added that cultural works and products can be traded in this joint market.

Rahbin also stressed that effective ways should be explored for boosting cultural exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan.

The Afghan cultural envoy further referred to Tehran International Book Fair and said the exhibition openned a new door for expansion of cultural interactions between Tehran and Kabul.

The 27th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) was held in the Iranian capital from April 29 until May 10.

Some 600 foreign publishers from Germany, France, Turkey, Japan, Lebanon, Syria, China, Qatar, and several other countries presented nearly 160,000 of their latest publications at the major Iranian book event.

Afghanistan was named as the guest of honor at this edition of the international exhibition.
