Iran Successfully Overhauls 20 Military Choppers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said the country’s military technicians have successfully overhauled 20 combat helicopters.
The military helicopters are of different types, including 205, 212, 214, 412, CH, RH, SH and Mil.
Brigadier General Dehqan said the “important” achievement, which has been accomplished despite decades of Western sanctions against Iran, is a prime example of the realization of the slogan “We Can.”
“Today, thanks to the knowledge and capabilities of Iranian experts, the aviation industries of the defense ministry is active and dynamic, despite three decades of strict sanctions imposed by the enemies, and is able to meet the country’s needs,” the Iranian defense minister underscored.
General Dehqan made the comments in an address at a ceremony held in Tehran on Monday to commemorate the Disabled War Veterans Day. During the ceremony the overhauled choppers were handed over to the Iranian armed forces.
In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
