Mexico Edges Cameroon in Group A of World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Mexico national football team defeated Cameroon 1-0 in Group A of the 2014 World Cup on Friday.
Striker Oribe Peralta scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute at the Arena das Dunas in Natal, Brazil.
Giovani dos Santos, the man who created the goal, was named Man of the Match.
Mexico will now play host nation Brazil on June 17 in Fortaleza, while Cameroon will travel to Manaus to play Croatia June 18.
Brazil, who defeated Croatia 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup opener, is top of the group with three points on goal differenc. Mexico is second followed by Cameroon and Croatia.
