TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lionel Messi scored a late winner for Argentina as the team defeated Iran in Group F of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
In the match held at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte, Barcelona super star scored in injury time.
Argentina advanced to the last 16 of the World Cup with this victory.
Iran has still chance to qualify for the next stage of the competitions. The team will play Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday at the Arena Fonte Nova.
The Iranian football team played brilliantly against the World Cup favorite.
Charlton Athletic striker Reza Ghoochannejhad created several chances in the match but Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero denied them.
