Iran’s Shazand Refinery Exports 300 Tons of Sulfur per Day

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The managing director of Imam Khomeini Refinery of Shazand in Central Iran announced on Tuesday that the facility is exporting 300 tons of granulated sulfur per day.

“With the implementation of the development project of Imam Khomeini Refinery of Shazand, 300 tons of sulfur is extracted per day,” Ali Shirazizadeh told Shana.

He also said that the refinery is currently producing 16 million liters of Euro-4 gasoline and 12 million liters of Euro-4 grade diesel per day.

Earlier on June 18, Shirazizadeh said that the facility's daily production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) had been quadrupled.

“With the implementation of the development projects of Shazand refinery, the LNG production has been raised from 500 tons per day (TPD) to 2000 TPD, which means the output has quadrupled,” he stated.

Iran has significantly expanded the range and volume of its petrochemical production over the past few years.

The Islamic Republic, which holds the world’s third-largest proven oil reserves and the largest natural gas reserves, is determined to become the biggest petrochemical producer in the Middle East.
