Iranian MP: Israeli Crimes in Gaza Clear Example of State Terrorism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian lawmaker condemned the atrocities of the Zionist regime against the people of Palestine, saying that the crimes committed by the regime in the Gaza Strip are clear examples of state-sponsored terrorism.

During a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart in Tehran on Saturday, Vahid Ahmadi, the head of Iran-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group, censured the silence of the international community on the massacre of innocent people in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military.

“The international community’s silence on the crimes of the Zionist regime (of Israel) has resulted in the continuation of these atrocities,” Ahmadi stated.

“The crimes that now are being committed by the Zionists against the oppressed people of Palestine, are the perfect examples of state-sponsored terrorism,” he noted.

More than 1,900 Palestinians, including several hundreds of children, have been killed in the Israeli onslaught on the coastal enclave since July 8.

Some 400,000 Palestinian children are in immediate need of psychological help due to the “catastrophic and tragic impact” of war, according to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on ways to promote Tehran-Vilnius cooperation in all spheres.

Ahmadi described relations between the two countries as “age-old and good,” saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lithuania have great capacities, which should be utilized to promote bilateral ties in various areas.
