Iran’s Red Crescent Society to Boost Aerial Relief Capacity

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Mohammad Farhadi said more helicopters will be put into service for aerial relief operations by the society.

Farhadi told the Tasnim News Agency that the society plans to buy 7 to 10 new choppers for its relief and rescue operations.

“We purchased 3 helicopters last year which will be delivered to us soon,” he added.

Farhadi noted that the total number of IRCS’s relief helicopters should reach 36.

Relief choppers are used by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, a nongovernmental humanitarian organization, for search-and-rescue missions and transporting victims of natural disasters.
