Commander: Iran Set to Boost Defense Readiness

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) navy commander said the Islamic Republic will not lose even a single day to maintain and bolster its defense preparedness.

Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi made the remarks in a meeting with a group of IRGC commanders on the Iranian island of Abu Musa in the Persian Gulf.

He pointed to the escalation of hostile policies of enemies against the Islamic resistance movement and said "the hostile intentions and goals by the enemies have made it more necessary for us to maintain and increase our combat and defense readiness."

The commander further warned that the regional developments indicate that not only has the enemies’ hostility towards the Islamic resistance movement remained unchanged, it has also taken new forms and aspects.

In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
