Iranian President Urges Closer Ties with Vietnam

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian President on Tuesday emphasized that Tehran- Hanoi relations could be expanded in all fields.

In a message addressed to his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang, President Rouhani congratulated the people and government of Vietnam on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

“Economic capacities, political will behind expansion of ties as well as common views regarding international issues, could promote mutual cooperation between Islamic republic of Iran and Socialist Republic of Vietnam” said Rouhani in his message.

The Iranian president also stressed that cooperation between Iranian and Vietnamese nations could be developed through joint efforts by the two countries’ officials.

Vietnam and Iran established diplomatic relations on 4th August 1973.

Vietnam was among the first countries to recognize the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
