Iran’s Weightlifter Kianoush Rostami Wins Silver at Asiad
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian weightlifter Kianoush Rostami snatched a silver medal in the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, on Wednesday.
The Iranian lifter hoisted 172 kg in the snatch and 208 kg in the clean and jerk and won the silver with an overall total of 380 kg.
China's Tian Tao set Asian Games records in the clean and jerk and overall lift.
The 20-year-old Chinese athlete lifted 163 kg in the snatch, 218 kg in the clean and jerk and combined total of 281 kg.
Ulugbek Alimov from Uzbekistan won the bronze medal with a total of 369 kg.
Rasoul Taghian, also from Iran, finished fourth with an overall total of 368 kg.
