Envoy: Iran Keen to Boost Economic Ties with Georgia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Envoy to Tbilisi Abbas Talebifar has voiced the country’s willingness to boost cooperation with Georgia, specially in economic fields.

The remarks was raised by Talebifar in a meeting with Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania during which they explored avenues for closer cooperation between the two countries.

Touching upon the future prospects of the ties between Tbilisi and Tehran, the Iranian envoy stressed his country's desire to invest in Georgia.

Talebifar further noted that the Iranian businessmen have special interest for rehabilitation of the depreciated buildings in Tbilisi, Azernews reported.

The Iranian envoy also raised an idea on the construction of an Iranian cultural center in Tbilisi, and Narmania pledged to provide all needed assistance to realization of the project.

Talebifar also submitted Tehran mayor's invitation to Narmania.
