President Hopes for Closer Iran-Czech Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday congratulated the Czech nation and government on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

In a message to Czech President Milos Zeman, Rouhani expressed the hope that “long-lasting relations” between the two countries would expand in line with the mutual interests of the two nations.

He also wished health and success for President Zeman and glory and prosperity for the Czech people and government.

After taking office in 2013, the Rouhani administration has been seeking to expand bilateral economic cooperation with European countries.

The Czech Republic, a landlocked country in Central Europe, celebrates its National Day on October 28 each year.

The country is bordered to the northeast by Poland, to the east by Slovakia, to the south by Austria, and to the west and northwest by Germany.
