Iranian Parliamentary Group Travels to Singapore to Discuss Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian parliamentary delegation left Tehran on Sunday for Singapore as part of efforts to explore avenues for closer bilateral ties with the Southeastern Asian country.

During their four-day trip, members of Iran-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship Group will meet with their Singaporean counterparts as well as other officials of the Asian country, including parliament speaker and foreign minister.

Ways to promote bilateral relations between Tehran and Singapore, are expected to top the agenda of the talks.

The delegation, headed by MP Gholam Reza Mesbahi Moqaddam, visits Singapore at the request of the country’s parliament.

Back in June, Singaporean Parliament Speaker Halimah Yacob, heading a high-ranking delegation, paid a visit to Iran and held talks with her counterpart, Ali Larijani, as well as other Iranian officials.

During her meeting with Larijani, she expressed the hope that “the existing friendly ties” between the two countries would be further expanded.
