Belarusian FM in Iran for Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei paid a two-day visit to Iran for talks on a range of bilateral and international issues.
Makei held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Saturday.
The two high-ranking diplomats discussed Tehran-Minsk bilateral ties as well as the regional and international developments. The Belarusian foreign minister invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Belarus.
This is the second time the Belarusian top diplomat visits Iran in 2014. Back in March, Makei made a trip to Tehran and held a number of meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials.
Iran and Belarus established diplomatic relations in 1992. They have enjoyed good relations in recent years, signs of which are obvious in regular high-profile meetings and a host of agreements.
In 2010, Iran inaugurated a large copper wire factory and the second phase of Samand car assembly line in Belarus.
