Fight on Hegemonic System, Zionism, Invigorated by Islamic Revolution: IRGC
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran provided fresh impetus for the world’s oppressed nations and extended the front of resistance to the hegemonic system and Zionism beyond the Iranian borders, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.
In a statement issued ahead of the 36th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the IRGC said Iran’s Islamic Revolution has had such a great impact that have inspired the nations not only in the region, but in all areas dominated by the world’s arrogant powers.
The “strategic depth” of the Islamic Revolution has led to an increase in the range of the anti-Zionism Resistance and has also reinforced the fight against the arrogant US, the statement added.
The IRGC also reaffirmed commitment to safeguarding the Islamic Revolution in all spheres in a vigilant and powerful manner.
The IRGC was established in Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution to defend the country against foreign threats and to safeguard the values and accomplishments of the Revolution.
According to Article 150 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, “The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, organized in the early days of the triumph of the Revolution (1979), is to be maintained so that it may continue in its role of guarding the Revolution and its achievements. The scope of the duties of this Corps, and its areas of responsibility, in relation to the duties and areas of responsibility of the other Armed Forces, are to be determined by law with emphasis on brotherly cooperation and harmony among them.”
