Persepolis Held by Saba in IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Persepolis football team played out a goalless draw with Saba here in Tehran in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.
The draw leaves Hamid Derakhshan's men 9th in the IPL table with just two wins in their last seven matches.
Media reports suggest that Iran former coaches Branko Ivankovic and Afshin Ghotbi are candidates to replace Derakhshan.
Elsewhere, Tractor Sazi defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-1 in its away match. This is Toni Oliveira’s first win in his first match in Tabriz-based team.
The Portuguese replaced Rasoul Khatibi last week.
Tractor moved to second place, one point behind IPL leader Naft.
Foolad also suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat against Saipa in Karaj.
