Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian Deputy FMs Meet in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq and Syria held a trilateral meeting in Tehran on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in the region.

During the meeting, the three diplomats referred to the end to aggression against Yemen and called for the resumption of national dialogue among all sides in Yemen.

They also underlined the responsibility of the aggressor to take immediate steps for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the impoverished country.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Saudi-led coalition announced on Tuesday that its military operation "Decisive Storm" has ended.

The Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian deputy foreign ministers further voiced concern over the activities of terrorist and Takfiri groups in the region and underlined the three countries' resolve to combat extremism and violence.

They also described dialogue as the best solution for the problems existing within and between the countries in the region.
