TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia and Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek explored avenues for the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in diverse economic and political areas.

At the meeting held in Prague,, Zaorálek said Tayebnia’s visit to the Czech Republic is regarded as a milestone in the history of Tehran-Prague relations and opened a new chapter in the ties.

He further pointed to the latest developments in the Middle East region, and said the Czech Republic share common positions with Iran on the developments.

The Czech foreign minister also expressed the hope that stability would be restored to the region as soon as possible.

Tayebnia, for his part, briefed Zaorálek on the current situation in the Middle East and the problems created over the past years by terrorist groups in the region, particularly the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists.

Tehran believes that global fight against “organized terrorism” should be regarded as a priority in order to establish peace and stability in the region, he said.
