Iran’s Greco-Roman Wrestler Taheri Wins Gold in Asian Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Ramin Taheri claimed a gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championships underway in Doha, Qatar.
Taheri stretched an early lead against Ruslan Tsarev in the 71kg to find his first Asian Championship with the 2-2 win via criteria.
The weight class is considered non-Olympic and will not be contested at Rio 2016.
Iranian freestyle team won the title of the Asian Wrestling Championships on Friday, claiming four gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.
