OCA Executive Board Meeting Commences in Tehran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Executive Board meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) started in Tehran on Thursday under the chairmanship of OCA president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.
The top items on the agenda include a speech by the OCA President, a welcome address by President of the Iranian National Olympic Committee (NOC) Kioumars Hashemi, and a summary of activities by the OCA Secretary General, Raja Randhir Singh.
“We received a warm welcoming here,” Sheikh Ahmad gratified and thanked Iranian officials.
“I’m very happy to be back to Tehran. Iran for a long time missed hosting some sport events. We hope to see Iran as a host of more events and we give the country our support for international stage,” he added.
This will be followed by reports from the five zones of the OCA and by organizing committees of future OCA events, from the 2016 Asian Beach Games in Danang, Vietnam, through to the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Sheikh Ahmad will also meet with the Iran’s Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Mahmoud Goudarzi.
According to the Secretary General of Iran’s National Olympic Committee, Shahrokh Shahnazi, 90 guests from all over Asia have attended the meeting.
