Iran's President Felicitates Croatia on National Day

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the people and government of Croatia on the Southeast European country's National Day.

In a Wednesday message to his Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the Iranian president felicitated the Croatian government and nation on the occasion and expressed hope for the promotion of Tehran-Zagreb ties.

"Given the numerous commonalities and various capacities for cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Croatia, I hope that the relations between the two countries will further develop in all political, economic, and cultural fields," he said.

President Rouhani also wished good health and success for the Croatian president and prosperity for the country.

After Croatia declared independence in June 1991, Iran became the 7th country to recognize the newly independent nation. The two countries have had diplomatic relations since April 1992.
