Poland Matches Are Deciders, Iran Captain Saeid Marouf Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian national volleyball team's captain Saeid Marouf said that two matches against Poland are deciders for them to book a place in the FIVB World League semi-final.
Iran will play powerhouse Poland in Tehran’s Azadi Hall on Friday and Sunday in Week 7 of the FIVB World League.
“Poland is world champion and we have two important matches against them to advance to Brazil,” Marouf said in the pre-match news conference.
“Regardless of result, we should put up a good show against Poland as we played against USA. Our priority is playing good then winning the matches,” he added.
USA leads Pool B with 17 points, while Iran is in third place with 13 points. Poland is second with 16 points and Russia has just two points.
