Iranian President: Nuclear Team Successfully Defended People's Rights

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani praised the country's negotiating team involved in the nuclear talks with six world powers, saying that they managed to protect the Iranian nations' rights.

"Iran's nuclear team stood up against all powers in the negotiations and succeeded in defending and safeguarding the Iranian nation's rights," Rouhani said in a Wednesday meeting with the members of the Iranian negotiating team and their families in Tehran.

The nuclear team's achievements "made proud not only the Iranian nation but also all believers and supporters of the Islamic Revolution," he stated.

President Rouhani emphasized that the Iranian people back the negotiating team and the great achievements they have reached.

He further underlined that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei's supports and guidelines greatly contributed to the success of the negotiating team.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as the P5+1 or E3+3) concluded more than two weeks of intensive talks over Tehran's nuclear program in Vienna on July 14.

The negotiating parties reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on the nuclear issue after 22 months of talks.
