Iran’s Hejazipour Wins Asian Continental Chess Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mitra Hejazipour from Iran emerged as the champion in the women’s section of the Asian Continental Chess Championship on Monday.

The Iranian representative defeated Mary Ann Gomes from India and finished in the first place with seven points.

Hejazipour will represent Asia in the world championship.

A total of 56 women chess players took part at the Asian Continental Chess Championship, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Al Ain, UAE.

In the men’s section, Emirati Grandmaster Saleh A.R. Salem came first.
