Iran’s Larijani Raps US Role in Formation of Terrorist Groups
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Ali Larijani on Tuesday deplored Washington over its role in the formation of terrorist groups in the region.
Western intelligence and spy services, particularly those of the US, have been behind the fire ignited in the region, Larijani said in a ceremony in the parliament in Tehran.
He stressed that there is intelligence showing that US spy agencies have played a role in the formation of the terrorist groups.
“Certain countries in the region have also had and continue to have a role (in creating and supporting terrorist groups),” the Iranian parliament speaker stressed.
In similar remarks in July, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had also referred to the policies of the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel as the main reasons behind terrorism in the Middle East.
The root causes of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East are the expansionist policies of Washington and Tel Aviv, Zarif said in a meeting with a Mexican parliamentary delegation in Tehran.
