Iran’s FM Reiterates Closer Ties with Latin American States
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran attaches great importance to its ties with the Latin American states, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad said.
Zarif raised the issue in a meeting with visiting Bolivian Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Juan Carlos Alurralde here in Tehran on Sunday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has an emphasis on the expansion of ties with the Latin American states,” Zarif noted, adding, “Ties with these countries can be strengthened in bilateral as well as regional and international consultations.”
As regards ties with Bolivia, Zarif said the two countries relations can be improved in diverse areas.
Also at the meeting, Alurralde urged further expansion of ties with Iran, especially in the field of energy and underlined the necessity for exchange of political and economic delegations.
Alurralde is in the Iranian capital to attend the third round of Iran-Bolivia political consultations.
