Japanese Team to Visit Iran for Trade Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Japanese delegation is going to visit Iran next week for negotiations on a bilateral investment treaty, Kyodo News reported.
According to the report, Japan’s Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the delegation will arrive in Tehran on Monday for 3-day talks to conclude a bilateral investment treaty.
According to Japanese government officials, Tokyo has devised plans to catch up with the US and Europe in getting the most out of investment opportunities in Iran once the anti-Iran sanctions are terminated under a lasting nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
Iran and the six powers on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.
The promising prospect of trade with Iran has prompted many countries to explore the market potential in the populous Middle East nation.
