Iran Basketball on Verge of Winning William Jones Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Chinese Taipei A 69-63 in the 37th William Jones Cup on Friday.

The Iranian team claimed its sixth win in seven games and is now poised to win the tournament.

Iran will play Spartak Primorye of Russia on Saturday. 

Iran is preparing for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship which will be held in Changsha, China, from September 23 to October 3.

William Jones Cup is an international basketball tournament held annually in Taipei. It was named after Renato William Jones, a basketball performer and one of the founders of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
