Iran’s Military Copter Returns to Service after Overhaul
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Army Ground Force airborne division on Saturday received a military helicopter that has been overhauled inside the country.
A Bell 214 helicopter officially rejoined the Iranian Army Ground Force airborne division’s fleet after undergoing overhaul.
The chopper took off at Abyek air base on Saturday, in a ceremony attended by Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan.
Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the overhaul of military aircraft in Iran was carried out by foreigners.
But after 1979, Iran made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Back in April, Iran's Air Force developed a course using computer software to train its personnel in jet engine repair skills and the overhaul of the F-7 fighter aircraft.
The training plan, known as "Taha", includes multimedia programs to instruct the personnel in jet propulsion fundamentals and specialized overhaul of the F-7 fighters.
