Israeli Forces Raid Home of Palestinian Killed Wednesday
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces on Thursday morning raided the family home of Ahmad Abu Shaaban, who was killed by Israeli forces for allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s central bus station a day earlier.
A large group of Israeli forces raided Shaaban’s home in the Ras al-Amud area of occupied East Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood, forcing residents of the home out during the search, Ma'an News Agency reported.
Israeli forces summoned Muhammad Abu Shaaban, Ahmad’s brother, for interrogation at a police station on Salah al-Din Street.
Ahmad, 23, purportedly attempted to board a bus in the central bus station, when he was shot dead by Israeli border police.
He had been released from jail seven months ago after spending three years in prison. He was detained on April 29, 2012 and convicted by an Israeli court following a confrontation with Israeli settlers.
Ahmad was the 32nd Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces since Oct. 1, several of whom have been shot on scene after being suspected of carrying out attacks.
Hours before Ahmad was shot, Basil Bassam Ragheb Sidr, 20, was killed by Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem after being shot multiple times by Israeli forces.
Witnesses told Ma'an at the time that his killing was a "cold-blooded execution". He was shot with 14 bullets and left to bleed on the ground.
