President: Gov’t to Observe Leader’s Instructions in Implementing JCPOA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made assurances that his administration will implement a recent nuclear agreement with six world powers, also known as JCPOA, while observing the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s instructions about the deal.
In a letter addressed to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday, Rouhani expressed gratitude to the Leader for his guidelines and continued supports for the administration and emphasized that the Leader’s instructions will be followed in implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s administration, while observing Your Excellency’s considerations and orders as well as the resolutions of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), will fully implement the JCPOA with goodwill,” the president’s letter read.
“Your seal of approval on the outcome of the efforts made by the administration and those involved in the (nuclear) talks along with the requirements you have laid down and the principles that you insisted on during the difficult and honorable negotiations… will open a new chapter in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s upward movement,” the president noted.
Thanks to the Iranian nation’s “heroic” resistance, its scientists’ endeavors and the efforts by the Iranian nuclear negotiating team, the six world powers acknowledged that their threats and sanctions are ineffective, the letter said.
In a letter to President Rouhani earlier on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei had highlighted nine main points that the administration will need to take note of regarding the course of implementing the JCPOA.
Tehran and the Group 5+1 (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.
The nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
Sunday, October 18, was the so-called “adoption day” for the deal, which came 90 days after the two sides concluded their intensive negotiations in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
The Iranian parliament on October 13 voted to pass the details of a motion to implement the nuclear agreement.
The bill allows the Iranian administration to voluntarily implement its July 14 nuclear agreement with the world powers under certain conditions.
