TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s deputy foreign minister and senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi will visit the Austrian capital of Vienna on Tuesday to meet with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano.

Araqchi, who heads a task force to follow up on the implementation of a recent nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is slated to hold the last round of talks with the IAEA on the previous issues of Iran’s nuclear case

Hamid Baeedinejad, the head of the Iranian team of nuclear experts, is also in Vienna holding expert-level talks aimed at making preparations for the implementation of the JCPOA.

Earlier in November, Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA had called on the UN nuclear watchdog to take an even-handed approach in preparing its final report about the so-called PMD (possible military dimensions).

Reza Najafi said Iran has fulfilled all of its commitments under a Road-map it signed with the IAEA on July 14.

The Road-map was signed on the same day that Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) finalized the JCPOA.

The IAEA has been given the role of verifying Iran’s commitments under the lasting nuclear deal.

The JCPOA was officially adopted on October 18, and is going to take effect within the next few weeks, after the IAEA releases its final report.
