Leader Lauds Iranian Armed Forces’ Capabilities

Speaking in a meeting with a group of Iranian Navy commanders and officials in the capital, Tehran, the Leader described the advances of the naval forces over the past years as “tangible” and stressed the necessity to continue the progress.

“Today, the capabilities and advances of the Iranian nation and Armed Forces have increased by far,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that the nation can reach a brighter future “through resistance, willpower, firm determination, optimism for the future and trust in God.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said before the Islamic Revolution, the importance and sensitive position of the sea was overlooked, adding that today, the Iranian Navy has made great advances, although there is a lot more to do before reaching the ideal point.

The Leader further described the sea as a field of “powerful confrontation with enemies,” and at the same time “effective cooperation with friends”.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to access to open seas, connection to four corners of the world through the sea and the possibility of defending the country from the sea as some benefits of the sea “to which people and officials should pay attention”.

In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
