Iranian FM, Finnish President Discuss Bilateral Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Finnish President Sauli Niinisto held talks in Switzerland on a range of issued, including ways to boost bilateral relations.
In a meeting in the Swiss city of Davos on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Thursday, Zarif and Niinisto exchanged views about the latest regional and international developments, and explored avenues for the promotion of Tehran-Helsinki relations.
Also on the fringes of the WEF in Davos, Zarif took part in a conference on stability in the Middle East region, with many officials and figures in attendance.
Zarif highlighted Iran’s stances on developments in West Asia and North Africa and ways to restore security and stability to these regions.
2016 Davos meeting opened on January 20 and will last until January 23. Various issues, including refugee crisis, decline in oil prices, terrorism and climate change are to be discussed during this year’s forum.
World Economic Forum was first set up in Davos in January 1971.
