PGCC’s Move against Hezbollah Hints at Collaboration with Israel: Analyst
DAMASCUS (Tasnim) – A senior Syrian analyst censured a recent decision made by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) to label the Lebanese Resistance Movement, Hezbollah, as a terrorist organization, saying the move implies that the Arab states are collaborating with the Israeli regime.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Wael Al-Imam pointed to a so-called anti-terrorism coalition formed by Saudi Arabia in December 2015, saying that Riyadh has built the alliance to wage a war against Hezbollah, the Axis of Resistance and Shiites under the guise of an anti-terror campaign.
The Middle East expert said the recent decision by the PGCC to name Hezbollah as a terror organization is part of the war waged by the Saudi regime.
He went on to say that the decision shed light on the stealthy collaboration of the Saudi regime with Israel.
The Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf on Wednesday declared Hezbollah movement, which has been fighting terrorist groups in Syria and the Israeli occupation, a “terrorist group.”
The six-nation (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council officially added Hezbollah and all groups affiliated to its so-called list of “terrorist” organizations.
On Thursday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said those who recently declared Hezbollah a terrorist group are damaging the unity and security of Lebanon.
“Referring to Hezbollah, the most influential resistance movement, as a terrorist group, and ignoring the Zionist regime’s crimes is a new mistake that is not in the interest of regional stability and security,” Amir Abdollahian said.
