Pakistani Fleet to Dock at Iranian Port
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two warships of the Pakistani Navy will berth at Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas next week as part of amicable naval relations between Tehran and Islamabad, Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran announced.
According to the report, the two training warships will make a port call in Bandar Abbas from April 16 to 19 as a goodwill gesture to Iran.
The visiting fleet will be under the command of Mohammad Shuaib, commander of the Pakistani Navy’s mine-laying unit.
The planned visit is a sign of close and brotherly ties between the two Muslim nations, conveys the message of regional peace and solidarity, and is meant to promote bilateral cooperation, the embassy added.
Iranian and Pakistani forces have already held a number of joint naval drills in Iran’s southern waters.
