Mohsen Torki to Referee Tehran Derby on Friday
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Mohsen Torki will take charge of this week’s derby between Iranian popular teams Persepolis and Esteghlal on Friday.
The 43-year-old referee will be assisted by Reza Sokhandan and Mohammad Reza Abolfazli in this match.
With five weeks remaining, Esteghlal and Persepolis are second and third in Iran Professional League table on goal difference.
Esteghlal leads the head to head results in competitive matches with 24 wins to Persepolis's 20, and 37 matches ended in a draw.
Tehran derby is a football match between the two prominent Tehran clubs Esteghlal (Blues) and Persepolis (Reds).
World Soccer magazine in June 2008 declared this match as the most important derby in Asia and 22nd most important derby in the world.
