Syrian Opposition HNC Calls on Russia to Make Syria Talks More Successful
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Syrian opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC) expects Russia to act more to make the intra-Syria talks in Geneva more successful, HNC spokesman said Tuesday.
On Monday, the HNC put on hold its participation in the intra-Syria talks, citing serious violations of the cessation of hostilities recently and worsening of the situation with humanitarian aid access.
"It has to be some actions from states, from Russia, to really make these talks here in Geneva succeed. We hope there will be a solution," Salem al-Meslet, HNC spokesman, told reporters, according to Sputnik.
HNC hopes that a solution to the crisis unfolding in Syria's Aleppo can be found during Tuesday's meeting between a task force of the International Syria Support Group and UN envoy Staffan de Mistura.
"They can really find the solution. We will see. Hopefully, they will do something," Salem al-Meslet said.
