Al-Nujaba Troops Capture 3 Al-Nusra Snipers in Syria’s Aleppo
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Fighters of Iraq's Hezbollah al-Nujaba resistance movement managed to arrest three snipers belonging to the Takfiri Jabhat Fateh al-Sham militant group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in southern Aleppo.
Al-Nujaba troops succeeded in identifying and capturing the snipers after launching a major attack against Takfiri terrorists in southern Aleppo.
The resistance forces made major advances in Sheikh Saeed district in Aleppo last week, and caught the gunmen off guard in an abandoned building.
The detainees confessed to receiving weapons and salary from Turkey under duress. The terrorists also said that they had been trained in a military camp in Turkey’s Gaziantep.
Separately, according to the latest reports coming out of the Arab country, Syrian troops are gearing up to liberate districts surrounding the western city of Hama.
The Syrian forces have been equipped with new military weapons and are ready to start the second phase of Hama operation aimed at fully liberating the strategic area from the terrorists, Tasnim dispatches reported.
Hama province is of strategic importance to the Syrian Army, as it separates terrorist groups in rebel-controlled Idlib from Damascus to the south and the government-controlled coast to the west.
In 2013, a major push by terrorists to capture Hama was repelled by government forces after reinforcements were sent to the area.
Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.
According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
